Concern Pathway 01
Acne, scarring & uneven texture.
Breakouts, marks, enlarged pores and established scars can appear together, but they are not treated in the same way. We begin by identifying what is active, what is residual and what your skin can comfortably tolerate.
Active breakouts and barrier health may need attention before corrective treatments for marks or scarring begin.
Understanding the Concern
Similar symptoms. Different starting points.
Active breakouts, lingering marks and established scars may exist at the same time, but each represents a different process within the skin.
Treating concerns in the right sequence can help prevent irritation, unnecessary downtime and additional scarring.
Active & Inflammatory
Active Breakouts
Recurring blemishes, congestion, oiliness, inflammation or tenderness may indicate that acne activity still needs to be brought under control.
The initial priority may be:
- Reducing congestion and inflammation
- Supporting the skin barrier
- Improving the home-care routine
- Preventing additional marks and scars
Residual & Discoloured
Post-Acne Marks
Red, brown or purple marks may remain after a breakout has healed. These changes in colour are different from permanent structural changes in the skin.
The initial priority may be:
- Reducing visible discolouration
- Supporting a more even-looking tone
- Preventing new inflammatory marks
- Protecting the skin from sun exposure
Structural & Established
Acne Scarring
Depressions, uneven depth or persistent surface changes indicate that acne has altered the structure and texture of the skin.
The initial priority may be:
- Identifying the type and depth of scarring
- Encouraging controlled skin renewal
- Improving visible texture gradually
- Planning a series or combination approach
Possible Treatment Pathways
How we choose your starting point.
We consider acne activity, inflammation, pigmentation, scarring, sensitivity, barrier health and previous treatment history before recommending a plan.
Your pathway may include one treatment or a carefully sequenced combination over time.
Control
Active Breakouts
This pathway may be appropriate when inflammation, congestion, recurring blemishes or barrier disruption remain active.
What we consider
Current inflammation, congestion, oil production, sensitivity, barrier health and your existing routine.
Correct
Marks & Uneven Tone
This pathway may be considered once active acne is more stable and residual redness or pigmentation has become the primary concern.
What we consider
The colour and depth of the marks, skin tone, sun exposure, sensitivity and whether new breakouts are still forming.
Rebuild
Texture & Scarring
This pathway focuses on established depressions, uneven texture and structural changes that remain after active acne has been addressed.
What we consider
Scar type, depth, distribution, active acne, healing history, skin tolerance and the degree of improvement being pursued.
